Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is where you turn your crazy ideas into real projects. We provide mentors, fun activities, speakers, workshops, and so much more. As you work together with your team to design and create, we will make sure your hackathon experience goes smoothly.

Where and when is it located?

10πHacks will be virtual this year, and we will be providing a Discord link to those who register! The Hackathon will be run through Discord and Zoom in combination.

What if I don't have a team?

You will be able to find a team through Discord channels that allow you to connect to others without a team as well! This can be done any time before the roster finalization date, so there's no need to hack alone (unless you want to go solo)!

What can I build?

At the beginning of the event, we will be giving you a general prompt, such as "create a website or service that is related to cybersecurity". As long as your creation follows the prompt, you can build anything you wish!

What if I have never coded?

You don't need to know how to code! We will be hosting a range of workshops during the hackathon, from the beginner to the advanced level, that will guide you through the development process and give you some pointers regarding what to build!

Will you provide any resources?

Yes! Besides the knowledge you can gain through our workshops, we will be giving you project ideas as well as basic templates so that you can focus on perfecting your design.

I don't live in the U.S. Can I still attend?

Yes! 10πHacks is open to all students in high school with a passion for coding!

How is 10πHacks unique?

10πHacks lasts for 31 hours, 41 minutes, and 59 seconds, and these three numbers make up the first few digits of 10 times π!

Who can attend?

You are eligible to participate if you're currently attending high school (grades 9-12).
